Aside from being a full-time Goddess, Yên is a proud first-generation, Vietnamese, queer, and Trans woman. She is also a model, writer, award-winning actress and filmmaker. Through her work as a storyteller, she aims to affirm and uplift her trans and BIPOC communities through bold authentic heartfelt stories that push the needle forward.
Since having had roles on “And Just Like That…,” “American Horror Story,” and a slew of award-winning indie projects, Yên has organically forayed into writing, producing, and now directing. As a writer and director, Yên’s work is heavily inspired by her dreams of what and how life could be, trans womanhood, and her community.
Yên’s screenplay and production debut, “Clementine,” still on its film festival route has screened at Slamdance, Newfest, CAAMFest, AAIFF, OUTSouth and more. The film has won best jury short film awards at various film festivals. She is now working on her next short film, where she will be making her official directorial debut.
Yên has been mentored by Director Elizabeth Ai, trained at Atlantic School of Acting, Esper Studio, Berg Studio, and ActNow under emmy-nominated Actress Rain Valdez. She has been featured in Atmos, Perfect Mag, Them, The Cut, PAPER, and more.
Outside of filmmaking, Yên has a passion 4 fashion and is based in New York City.
