Time is probably the biggest creep to ever exist... It's always there, never leaving your side, you're unable to escape it, and as much as you want it to stop sometimes, it won't and never will. As you get older it comes out of nowhere, completely surprising you, specifically at the end of the year. Time is like "Hey! It's almost the new year now! Hopefully you did something with yourself this year!"...and the year that just passed is all but a blur. As you get older, each year feels shorter and less memorable as our time is filled with work and the stresses of life. Which in turn, makes time one of the most precious gifts you can give anyone and yourself. It's just a matter of how wisely you choose to spend it.
(Cheesy resolutions spoiler) For the new year, I'm really going to do my best to spend my time in a way that fully optimizes my happiness and work towards my goals and dreams, which encompasses many aspects of life like self cultivation, getting rid of insecurities, self-love, LGBTQ empowerment, etc. These resolutions happen to be the same every year.
To be happy.
To continue to strive for my goals and dreams.
To become a style icon.
Nothing too far-fetched, and each play a part to one another, not being able to be fully realized without the other.
Style icon. I know that sounds vain and extremely narcissistic, but it's a vital step in achieving my higher dreams and goals to help change the world. I know it won't happen overnight but time will tell, and hopefully everything will make sense to everyone then. I'm a big believer in karma and that what you put out in the universe will come back to you. So there it is: I want to become a style icon, amongst many other things.
So in the new year, let's all spend our time wisely and put it towards people, hobbies, and activities that will make us happy, whatever that may be. And not let time be the creeper of the year, again. Let's make 2017 positively memorable and totally un-relatable to the beginning vs. end of 2017 memes that are sure to come to fruition later this year.
